Post-Conference: Wind Energy 101

kirkwood board approves wind turbine bid from the Acterra Group.
CEDAR RAPIDS — A new wind turbine at Kirkwood Community College will proceed on schedule, after the Kirkwood board of trustees approved the construction bid on the project. The Kirkwood board approved the bid from the Acterra Group of Marion, Iowa. Acterra will provide the construction portion of the project including the foundation, electrical and erection of the 2.5 megawatt turbine. The project has a total cost of about $5 million. Construction on the project is beginning immediately.
